General Terms & Conditions

These policies are drafted for Asetos Computers' website, online shop, repair intake process, invoices and customer communications. They are intended to be read together. Nothing in these policies removes any consumer right that cannot be excluded under South African law.

1. Acceptance of terms

By placing an order, booking in a device, accepting a quotation, approving a repair, arranging collection, accepting delivery, or using our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and all related Asetos Computers policies.

These include our Repair Policy, Return Policy, Payment Policy, Privacy Policy, Warranty Policy, Shipping Policy and Cooling-Off Policy.

2. South African consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes any right that you have under South African law.

Where the Consumer Protection Act, Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, Protection of Personal Information Act or any other law gives you a right that cannot be limited, that right will apply.

3. Product information and customer responsibility

We try to describe all products accurately, including grade, condition, specifications, accessories and known defects where applicable.

Customers must check product descriptions, specifications, model numbers, part numbers and compatibility before ordering.

Refurbished, used, open-box and graded products may show signs of previous use. Cosmetic wear does not make a product defective if the condition was disclosed before purchase.

4. Refurbished products are not trial-use products

Refurbished computers and devices are sold for genuine ownership and normal use. They are not supplied for rental, temporary use, trial use or 'use and return' purposes.

Asetos Computers may record product serial numbers, specifications, cosmetic condition, battery health, storage health, security seals, packaging condition and accessories before dispatch or collection.

5. Compatibility

Unless confirmed by Asetos Computers in writing, we do not guarantee compatibility with every device, operating system, BIOS version, software package, charger, screen, battery, RAM module, SSD, motherboard, server, printer or accessory.

The customer is responsible for checking compatibility before purchase.

6. No automatic refunds

A refund is not automatic simply because a customer has changed their mind, ordered the wrong item, found a cheaper item elsewhere, failed to check compatibility, or used the item for a temporary purpose.

All return, warranty and refund requests are subject to inspection and testing.

7. Abuse of return process

Asetos Computers may reject a return or reduce any refund where allowed by law if the item has been used beyond reasonable inspection, damaged, altered, opened, tampered with, password-locked, account-locked, BIOS-locked, BitLocker-locked, MDM-enrolled, disassembled, upgraded, downgraded, scratched, returned incomplete, or returned with missing packaging or accessories.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Asetos Computers is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, business interruption, loss of data, loss of opportunity, loss caused by customer error, software issues, compatibility issues, courier delays, misuse, abuse, liquid damage, power surge, or third-party repairs.

This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
